Day 1 – Santa Giusta church and Oristano

In the afternoon departure to visit basilica Santa Giusta, a Romanesque church dating back to the XII century and being the most important example of the Romanesque style in Sardinia. It is built in sandstone. Afterwards visit th town of Oristano with the Sartiglia Museum to understand the importance of this Carnival for the local people. Sa Sartiglia is a long term and very strong traditional equine race performed during the carnival period by the cavaliers dressed in the traditional customs and with a mask on the face. the cavaliers try to get a star hanging above their heads while galloping their horse. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Oristano.

Day 2 – Losa Nuragic village and the town of Bosa

In the morning departure to visit Losa - a nuragic village dating back to the Bronze Age. Afterwards proceed to Bosa, a town built along the Temo river. It’s named for its coloured tall houses, its fishing boats, the doilies which are still  handmade in the old part of the town and the Malvasia D.O.C. wine. Bosa is registered in the list of “I più bei borghi d’Italia” (the most beautiful villages of Italy). Visit Bosa, taste of the local Malvasia D.O.C. wine and have a lunch in a restaurant. On the way back to Oristano stop at Tinnura to see the paintings on the walls of the houses which remind the moments of everydays’ life. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 – Barbagia region, ethnographical museum, murales in Orgosolo

Departure after breakfast to the inland region of Barbagia. Stop in Nuoro to visit the Museum of Costumes and discover the Sardinian traditions and admire a rich collection of the original objects donate to the museum by the local people (customs, jewels, musical instruments, carpets, tool, etc), then carry on to visit Orgosolo. This village is famous for the murales - paintings on the walls of the houses that were first created as a local protest at the end of the 60's. Lunch with the shepherds to taste the local food cooked on the spot. On the way back stop in Mamoiada to visit an artisan of the local carnival masks. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 – Tharros and the Giants of Monte Prama

After breakfast departure to visit the remains of  the ancient town of Tharros founded by the Phoenicians during the VIII century BC and located in the protected area of Sinis peninsula. Visit the archaeological Museum of Cabras to appreciate the importance of the Giants of Monte Prama. They make part of the the unique and still mysterious discovery - the big Nuragic statues found in a nearby plot of land and considered to be part of the Mediterranean civilizations. The oldest statues date back to the first millennium BC. Vernaccia wine tasting with some local products will be done before departure.
