Weather in Sardinia

Sardinia is one of the places of the Mediterranean that, besides some wind which is typical of islands, has  a very pleasant and suitable climate for summer holidays and tourism in general all year round. Along the coast hot and dry days from the end of May till the beginning of October alternate with mild and temperate winters.

Breeze is typical during the summer season and it is very pleasant when temperatures might be above 35 °C. There are  about 300 sunny days per year on a average, that’s why we say that the summer season lasts almost 6 months. Winter on the sea shore is usually mild and sometimes wet, but there are many sunny days in winter too. Exceptionally the temperature falls under 0 °C.
Climate is a bit different in the hinterland where the highest mountains reach almost 2000 m above sea level. Every winter up there it snows and even if Sardinia is better known as a summer holiday destination, we can also enjoy a ski resort close to Fonni. I general we have the ideal climate for hiking or doing outdoor activities all year round, even during the hottest days thanks to many coastal path that make the day ends with a refreshing swim.
