Day 1 -  Friday 19th May 2023 - Alghero

Arrival in Alghero, meet your guide and visit the Catalan town. Aragon gothic architecture, red Sardinian coral, a long white beach and exquisite sea food surrounded by Mediterranean life-style are the main features of this entertaining town. Visit Palmavera Nuragic village. Dinner and overnight in hotel in Alghero.

Day 2 - Saturday 20th May 2023 -  Bosa

Departure after breakfast to Bosa along a photograph-worthy road. Visit  Bosa which is registered in the list of the most beautiful villages of Italy. Lunch in a local restaurant and in the afternoon board a little boat for a short cruise on the Temo River** and taste the Malvasia D.O.C. wine. Return to Alghero, dinner and overnight in hotel in Alghero.

Day 3 - Sunday 21st May 2023 - Sassari parade

Departure after breakfast to attend Sassari parade***. This event wants to evoke the visit that many Sardinian people paid to Sassari in 1899 to see the King of Italy and his wife on a formal call to Sardinia. Hundreds of people are dressed with traditional expensive coloured costumes; some will parade on foot others by horse. Lunch on your own. During the afternoon the boldest riders will do some riding performances at the racetrack and at night everybody will meet again to celebrate this festive event with traditional dances and music in Sassari main square. Overnight in hotel in Alghero.

Day 4 - Monday 22nd May 2023 - Capocaccia and Castelsardo

Departure after breakfast on a boat tour to Capocaccia and visit the Neptune's caves**. Lunch on your own. Departure in the afternoon to Castelsardo and visit this scenic village built on a peninsula towering Asinara Gulf. Traditional handmade baskets can be admired along the winding pretty streets and elaborate Baroque altars are a must not to be missed when visiting Castelsardo churches. Dinner and overnight in hotel in Olbia.

Day 5 - Tuesday 23rd May 2023 - Calangianus and Costa Smeralda

Departure after breakfast to visit inland Gallura area and a cork workshop in Calangianus. Lunch on your own. Visit the famous Costa Smerlda with stops according  to your scheduled flight or ferry.

 

** In case of bad weather/sea conditions the boat trip will not take place. Other activities will be suggested.
*** The “Sassari parade” (Cavalcata sarda) could be cancelled or modified for to sanitary restrictions due to covid19. Replacing activities will be suggested .
