* In case of bad weather/sea conditions the boat trip will be replaced by a tour by bus into the natural park and a stop at a coral workshop

 

Jour Day 1 - Alghero, ciudad Catalan

In the afternoon departure for an excursion by boat acrross the Coral Riviera to Capocaccia and the Neptune’s caves, an extraordinary karst grotto with stalactites, stalagmites and a salt water lake in the middle, then visit Alghero. The town is partly surrounded by walls and bastions to protect churches and civilian buildings that still show details of the Aragon-Gothic style. Alghero is famous for its white long beach and coral workshops and cafés and it is an ideal town for everybody. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 2  - Bosa, the Nuragic civilization and a typical lunch

After breakfast departure to visit Bosa built along the Temo river and one of the 7 Sardinian royal towns. It’s famous for its coloured tall houses, fishing boats,  the handmade doilies and the Malvasia D.O.C. wine. Furthermore Bosa is registered in the list of “I più bei borghi d’Italia” (the most beautiful villages of Italy). The day will continue to the nuraghi valley to visit the outstanding well preserved remains of S. Antine Nuragic village dating back to the Bronze age. This area is still important for sheep breeding and the production of the famous pecorino cheese. Typical festive lunch with tasty local products will be offered. Return to Alghero for dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 3 - San Gavino romanesque church and Castelsardo

After breakfast departure to Porto Torres to visit the beautiful Romanesque church of San Gavino, a fascinating example of Pisan, Sardinian and Romanesque style. Arrival to Castelsardo and visit the well preserved old town that looks from the top of the hill over the Asinara’s Gulf. Famous for its baskets which are still hand woven by local women, Castelsardo is as well registered in the list of “I più bei borghi d’Italia” (the most beautiful villages of Italy). Lunch on your own. In the afternoon stop at one of the natural monuments of Sardinia called the Elephant’s rock to see some rock cut tombs dating back to the Neolithic period. Return to Alghero for dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 4 - Pelosa beach and Sella & Mosca winery

After breakfast departure to Stintino, a small fisherman village with a beach of Pelosa located in front of Asinara National park. The beach is famous for its outstanding colours. Time for bathing or strolling around and admiring the astonishing shades of blue of this part of the sea. Return to Alghero area for a wine tasting at the famous Sella & Mosca winery, the biggest winery in Sardinia with a very long tradition and a wide range of the excellent wines appreciated in the whole world. Free time before departure.
