5 Days in Gallura with your family

Gallura is a region laying in the North-East part of Sardinia. Its hills covered by the thick Mediterranean scrub slope lightly into the crystal clear sea. During the 5 days of your long guided tour you will learn about the historical sites, discover some beautiful white beaches, taste some specialities and enjoy local wines and homemade biscuits.

This tour gives some suggestions and has been designed for families (children included) and/or beginner trekking lovers. Some of the listed destinations can be connected either with a car / coach or by a short and easy trekking. However, some walking is necessary along steep trails and some sites have many steps, mainly around the castles.

Day 1 - Olbia, Tempio, Luras

Arrival to Sardinia and meet your guide. Accommodation in agriturismo (rural houses) to better know the local people and appreciate nature. All agriturismo are managed by the owners and guarantee comfort and privacy. They are situated in characteristic small villages or in the countryside. According to the arrival time to Sardinia, on your first day we can visit the ethnographical museum Galluras in Luras or go for a short walking tour to the Limbara mountains that rise above the town Tempio. Galluras museum has a rich collection of the authentic objects collected all over Sardinia. Among them there are carpets, furnishings, pieces of pottery, pillows, bed linen, embroideries, wooden or iron tools and much more. The most terrific object is the one that belonged to Accabadora a mysterious lady who was called to heal suffering people with no hope to be cured. We can also decide for a little walking tour in the nearby countryside and see some old huge wild olive trees or visit a workshop to appreciate the importance of cork. This area is very popular among wine lovers and it has a beautiful view over granite rocks and cork oak trees.
