Day 1 - Saturday 10th February 2024 – Olbia, Tharros and Cabras

Meet your tourist guide in Olbia and proceed to Sinis Peninsula for a lunch on your own before starting the guided tour of the ruins of the ancient town of Tharros. Proceed to Cabras archaeological museum to appreciate, among other very important findings, the Mont’e prama nuragic statues. Dinner and overnight in Oristano

Day 2 - Sunday 11th February 2024 – Oristano

After breakfast walk to the town centre to assist at Eleonora of Arborea's parade where you can admire beautiful medieval dresses. Lunch on your own and reserved seat on the bleachers to see “Sa Sartiglia” riding competition. During the afternoon we assist from the bleachers at the “Pariglie”, a spectacular trick riding performed by very brave horsemen. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 3 - Monday 12th February 2024 – Santa Cristina archaeological Park, Nuraghe Losa, Santu Lussurgiu

Departure after breakfast to Santa Cristina archaeological park to visit the nuragic sacred well. Continue to visit the imposing nuraghe Losa which dates back to Bronze age and have lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon proceed to Santu Lussurgiu to see the traditional riding event "su lunisi de sa pudda". Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 4 - Tuesday 13th February 2024 - Fat Tuesday in Mamoiada

Departure after breakfast to Mamoiada to visit the Museum of the Mediterranean masks, lunch on your own in Mamoiada and during the afternoon follow the parade across the village with Mamuthones and Issochadores. Excellent red wine,  homemade biscuits, music and local traditions will warm up the atmosphere throughout the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in the hotel in Oristano.

Day 5 - Wednesday 14th February 2024 - Ash Wednesday in Ovodda for a special Carnival

After breakfast departure to cross the regions of Mandrolisai and Barbagia of Belvì and visit a pastry shop for nougat production in Tonara. Proceed for a lunch with traditional products and in the afternoon continue to Ovodda to assist to its special carnival. Here the inhabitants create Don Conte, a puppet made with old rags and they carry it around the streets. Neither rules, nor public arrangements are set for this event, and spontaneous desire of freedom from every duty is the common mood. At dusk the puppet in thrown in a bonfire lit in town in a scarp. Traditional dance in the main square, good red wine and burnt cork used to blacken everybody's face are the most distinctive features . Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 6 - Thursday 15 February 2024 - Cagliari

After breakfast departure to Cagliari for a guided visit. A guided panoramic tour by bus will include a general sightseeing of Poetto beach and Molentargius natural park where among other species live the pink flamingoes. The tour will proceed on foot to the historical Castello district still surrounded by medieval walls and bastions that today features a beautiful view over the sea and the city. Lunch on your own and farewell.

The tour includes: 5 nights in Hotel **** in HB in double room in Oristano, city taxes, 2 lunches without drinks, reserved ticket to assist to the Sartiglia from the bleachers, reserved ticket to assist to the Pariglia (trick riding) from the bleachers. Entrance tickets for the visits mentioned in the programme. Private coach and licensed tourist guide of Sardinia during the whole length of the tour, from Day 1 in Olbia to Day 6 in Cagliari as described in the programme.

The tour does not include: drinks at meals, insurance, return flight ticket to Sardinia, return ferry ticket to Sardinia, personal transfer to meet the rest of the group (see programme or after the farewell form the group, tips and anything which is not mentioned at the point “The tour includes”.

Additional cost of Euros 90,00 for a single room for 5 nights.

The order of the visits could change, without modifying what is expected in the programme. The tour will be confirmed starting from 10 participants to no more than 25 participants.
